The Nature Trail is the latest addition to Windrock Park. This trail allows our guests to take a stroll through the woods and around to the pond and picnic area. It is open to hikers and mountain bikers.
Beginning at the fire hydrant along Windrock Park Lane, the Nature Trail goes into the woods and turns left along the contour. The trail follows the lower slopes of the ridge, with a few gradual uphill slopes, continuing down the ridge until it intersects with the gravel road which leads to the bridge and around the pond. The trail continues as a loop around the pond and to the picnic area. From the picnic area, the gravel road provides an easy hike back to the campground or heads back up the trail for a more difficult climb! Blue trail signs mark the route! Test your tree knowledge with the interpretive signs along the trail!
