Springs, TN (May 29, 2013)-Windrock Park will host Round 5 of Quantum Racing, Inc.’s 2013 UTV Rally Raid Series (UTVRR) on Saturday, June 8th. This will be the fifth of ten UTVRR Northern Series races held at Windrock Park’s UTV Endurance Track this season.

While Round 4 welcomed several new faces and UTVRR first time drivers, Team Buff, a true veteran racer, was named champion for the second consecutive round, and was the only driver to finish all 15 laps. Once again, his smooth driving and no-nonsense racing practices allowed him to claim first place, completing the race in 3 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds in a Polaris RZR 570. Team Buff now leads the Northern Series Class QR2 with 81 points, however, only eight points separate first through third place. Team Tennessee has a solid lead in Class QR1 with 89 points while Team Over the Hill Racing leads by only one in Class QR3 with 67 points. UTVRR’s scoring system awards drivers points for total laps completed and as such, even what appears to be a solid lead can diminish very quickly, making performance in Round 5, and each subsequent round, equally important.

The UTVRR Northern Series continues to inspire both a spirit of competition and good sportsmanship in veterans and rookies alike. Matt Hall, Vice President of Media and Marketing for Quantum Racing stated, “As is always the case, the veteran racers were more than happy to offer help and advice where possible. A prime example, week in and week out, Team Buff can be seen speaking to the new drivers and offering words of wisdom and encouragement.”

Drivers from each class in Round 4 were extremely pleased with Windrock Park’s customized UTVRR track, even stating the condition of the track was the best they had ever raced, regardless of series. Over the past several months, park management has worked closely with Quantum Racing and the race community to modify the the track, making some significant changes to create the best driver experience possible, most notably a complete re-route of Section 1. Almost 20 drivers took the opportunity to preview the new section, which is faster, wider and smoother than the one previous.

The Windrock Park UTV Endurance Track remains a perfect fit for UTVRR’s Northern Series. The 8.2 mile course is a closed track, without logs or ruts, tailored to high speed races during both daylight and darkness hours. Vision X has provided industry leading lighting for the Park’s off-road races. Windrock Park is thrilled to have been selected as the venue for UTVRR, known by riders and spectators alike as the premier race series in the Southeast. No prior experience is necessary to enter the race which caters to all driver and vehicle classes. Round 5 should prove to be a challenging race yet again, combining UTVRR’s unique Baja style format and European Rally style with Windrock Park’s ultimate off-road adventure.

Oliver Springs, TN (May 15, 2013)- Hundreds of rock crawlers and 4×4 drivers will flock to Windrock Park Friday, May 31st through Sunday, June 2nd for the 2nd Annual Crawl Rally, a weekend packed with competitive hill climbing, live music and trail riding.

Crawl Rally 2013 kicks off Friday with a swap meet complete with a host of great vendors and continues late into the evening with live music, cornhole tournaments and traditional southern barbecue.

The real excitement begins early Saturday morning, with the Hill Climb competition boasting a $3,500 payout. Rules will be announced prior to the race. First place takes home $2,000, second wins $1,000 and third place pays $500. Brent Galloway, General Manager of Windrock Park said, ” This is by far the most intense off-road event we host here at Windrock Park. It’s an adrenaline rush to watch these high horse-powered 4x4s and buggies race up the extreme hills, boulders, and ditches that are on the race course. It takes a specifically modified race machine to compete, and is an awesome event for spectators. It’s like NASCAR, monster trucks, and mountain climbing all combined!”

After the race on Saturday, the band “Haze” will rock the night away until 10 p.m. when attendees will then have the opportunity to participate in an exciting night ride. The weekend concludes on Sunday with another opportunity to go trail riding.

Crawl Rally 2013 is a family friendly event open to all models of Jeeps and 4x4s, made possible by the cooperative efforts of sponsors including: TN Mountain Junkies Off Road Club, Southern Rock Racing Series , Atomic City 4×4, Yukon Gear & Axle, Rough Country Suspension, The Law Offices of Ogle, Elrod & Baril, and Windrock Park. The fee for race spectators is $20 per adult and $5 per child, ages 5-12, while there is no charge for children under 5 years. The rest of the weekend is free with a Windrock Park land use permit.

Oliver Springs, TN (May 2, 2013) – Round 4 of the 2013 UTV Rally Raid Series (UTVRR), by Quantum Racing, Inc., will kick-off Saturday, May 11th, at Windrock Park. This will be the fourth of ten UTVRR Northern Series races held at Windrock Park’s UTV Endurance Track this season.

Driving a Polaris RZR 570, Team Buff claimed victory in Round 3 after completing 15 laps in 3 hours, 54 minutes, and 15 seconds. While Team Buff, a true UTVRR veteran racer, was the overall winner of Round 3, the Championship remains up for grabs, and could even end up in the hands of a rookie racer. Matt Hall, Vice President of Media and Marketing for Quantum Racing, stated, “With several new teams racing UTVRR for the first time, and placing, the Championship table is once again wide open. After three rounds, the title of Champion isn’t anywhere close to any one team’s trophy cabinet. Finishing the race, managing your fuel, preserving your ride and laying down consistent lap times will decide who claims the overall series Championship.”

Over 30 UTV Riders competed in Round 3 on April 6th. For most drivers, Windrock Park’s custom-built UTV Endurance Track allowed for even a quicker overall pace than in Round 2, largely due to the efficiency of the maintenance crew and the ideal weather conditions that day. Brent Galloway, General Manager of Windrock Park, stated, “Windrock Park and the Windrock ATV Club have worked very hard to make what we feel is an exceptional course, a course that just keeps improving with each race. With the very low attrition rate, great weather and course conditions, and a fantastic atmosphere, UTVRR’s Northern Series Round 3 was extremely exciting. Round 4 will have a lot to live up to!”

The Windrock Park UTV Endurance Track continues to be a perfect fit for UTVRR’s Northern Series. The brand new 8.2 mile course is a closed track, without logs or ruts, tailored to high speed races during both daylight and darkness hours. Vision X has provided industry leading lighting for the Park’s off-road races. Windrock Park is thrilled to have been selected as the venue for UTVRR, known by riders and spectators alike as the premier race series in the Southeast.
Oliver Springs, TN (April 24, 2013)- Windrock Park will welcome hundreds of off-road enthusiasts May 3rd and 4th during Trail Fest 2013, the ultimate two-day trail event hosted by the Southern Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA).

This will be the 10th Annual Trail Fest at Windrock Park. Brent Galloway, General Manager of Windrock Park, said, “I have attended SFWDA’s Trail Fest every year for the last nine years, and really look forward to it again this year. Personally, it is one of my favorite events at Windrock Park, especially because it is an event that the whole family can participate in. SFWDA does so many great things for local communities throughout the Southeast, most importantly, educating people about how to properly preserve the land on which we ride in a safe and environmentally conscious way. Trail Fest promotes that very idea in a fun and active atmosphere.”

Oliver Springs, TN (April 17, 2013)- Windrock Park will proudly play host to a sold out crowd of Jeep owners April 25th through April 27th during the annual Jeep Jamboree.

The Windrock Park Jeep Jamboree is an action packed weekend, boasting three full days of off road adventure for Jeep owners, who will trek through the rustic mountain backdrop offered by Windrock Park. “Windrock Park offers some of the best rock crawling in the country, including off-cambers, hill climbs, rocks and deep mud. Jeep Jamboree veterans and first timers alike will enjoy the majestic scenery spread across 72,000 acres of off road bliss,” stated Bob Yarbrough, Local Coordinator at Jeep Jamboree USA.

Jeep Jamboree has become an East Tennessee tradition, dating back to 1953, when Jeep 4×4 pioneer Mark A. Smith organized the first ever Jeep Jamboree, voyaging across the Sierra Nevada Mountains through the Rubicon Trail. A year later, Willy’s Motors, manufacturer of Jeep vehicles at the time, joined Smith’s adventure, helping Jeep Jamboree to grow into the popular weekend celebration it is today.

Windrock Park Trail System encompasses over 300 miles of actively managed off highway vehicle roads and trails in East Tennessee. The Trail System is nestled within some of the most extreme mountainous terrain in the Southeast, providing Jeep Jamboree participants the perfect location for this special three-day event. Yarbrough, who continues to be instrumental in the organization of Jeep Jamboree, said

“Windrock is a favorite stop on the Jeep Jamboree Tour by many!”

While Jeep Jamboree is currently sold out, a waiting list is still available!

Oliver Springs, TN (April 4, 2013) – Windrock Park is thrilled to host the War at Windrock trail run by Dirty Bird Events. Three trail races in two days, April 13-14.

A two-day 50k, War at Windrock is an epic adventure of trail running that recreational athletes, elite runners, and everyone in between will not want to miss. Nestled in Windrock Park, just north of Oak Ridge, TN, runners will conquer a wild journey through single track trails of steep climbs, rugged terrain, and breathtaking mountain views (if you still have any breath left). Best of all, the race is routed directly through the wind farm, strictly off limits to the general public under normal circumstances, as Dirty Bird Events has gained exclusive access to the private area.

The race weekend will offer athletes the opportunity to enjoy Windrock Mountain in three ways: Move Fast, Get High and Go Long. It’s an ultra distance in three stages, certain to push trail runners of all levels to the limit. Whether competing for the “Trailfecta” (recommended) or battling in just one or two races, we invite all participants to fight hard, have fun and enjoy the War at Windrock.

Brent Galloway, General Manager of Windrock Park stated, “We have been hoping for a foot race for a while now. The park’s core activity is off-road vehicle riding. But we have felt that this property has so much more to offer. When asked if we would host this event, it just seemed like the right fit. We’ve been working for months with Dirty Bird events to map out the most exciting and adventurous trail system by far and have gotten an overwhelmingly positive response.”

War at Windrock is a one of a kind experience for athletes, sponsors, and volunteers alike. Live music, food, bonfire, and corn hole will be included in the festivities, so hang out between battles and stay the weekend. Camping is available in the Windrock Park campground, and you will be a stone’s throw away from the finish line. RV sites and cabins are also available for additional fees.

Oliver Springs, TN (April 10, 2013) – Windrock Park is gearing up for its Spring Jamboree, April 18th, 19th & 20th.

Windrock Park produces two major events throughout the year, the Windrock Park Spring Jamboree and Fall Jamboree. These events each host upwards of 5,000 off-road riding enthusiasts. Riders come from near and far, some traveling as far as 500+ miles to enjoy the 72,000 acres of the most extreme off-road riding in the Southeast.

The Spring Jamboree will include a range of events including a Sunset Guided Ride, ATV Rodeo Event, Poker Run, Obstacle Course, Drag Race, “Dash for Cash” Mud Challenge , Windrock Wide Open Race and much, much more. In addition to the many off-road activities and events, participants can also enjoy a Cornhole Tournament and Bonfire dinner! “If you enjoy off-road riding, the Spring Jamboree is the place to be. This will be our 8th year producing this event. We really listen to what the riders want and that has made for a great event. Each year participation grows and the Jamborees continue to expand activities offered. We are thinking of not just the rider but activities that involve the whole family,” says Bill Lyon, President of Windrock Park.

The Spring Jamboree requires competitors and riders have a Land Use Permit with cost starting at $17.00 for a one day permit. Spectator admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Competitors pay a one-time fee of $10 which covers ANY AND ALL participation with the exception of the Poker Run, which is a fund raiser for local volunteer rescue squads.

If you are planning to attend both Friday and Saturday, you’ll want to secure a primitive camping spot, RV spot or luxurious cabin to get the maximum benefit of the Jamboree festivities. The Windrock Park Campground is located on 259 acres with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. Park facilities include four deluxe fully furnished cabins, ten smaller cabins with double bunk beds, thirty-nine RV sites with full hookups and 75+ primitive camping sites available, plus overflow facilities during high demand periods.

Oliver Springs, TN (April 1, 2013) – Windrock Park is excited to bring on Round 3 of the 2013 UTV Rally Raid Series (UTVRR) by Quantum Racing, Inc. Kick-off to the 3rd Round begins Saturday, April 6.

Windrock Park’s UTV Endurance track was custom built for UTVRR, with 8.2 miles of closed track (no public traffic). With Round 1 & 2 underway there has been great anticipation surrounding the Northern Series. Since Round 1, the facility’s team has worked hard to maintain the track to further enhance the UTVRR experience. With assistance from the Windrock ATV Club Windrock Park is sure to be the long-term favorite venue.

Round 2 hosted over 50 UTV Riders to Windrock Park. The winner Team #70 Toyota of Kingsport was riding a Polaris RZR XP and was timed at 3 hours 43 minutes 17 seconds.

Bill Lyon, President of Windrock Park stated, “The excitement this race series has brought to Windrock Park is so contagious! Just the sportsmanship and comradery are insurmountable. The weather looks to be perfect this weekend with the temperature around 70 at race start and holding to around 63 throughout the event, so come on out and join us for Round 3.”

The UTVRR event is unique in that 50% of the race is under the cover of darkness. Quantum Racing has partnered with Vision X, a premier company, providing an industry leading array of high power lighting for off-road racers. UTV Rally Raid is known by racers and spectators alike, to be the premier race series in the southeast. It’s four hours of adrenaline packed racing against the clock during the hours of daylight and darkness at high speed. No prior race experience is necessary and the race caters to all driver and vehicle classes. The reason the Rally Raid has been so successful is it’s a combination of European rally style driving mixed with a Baja style format including pit stops! Windrock Park’s UTVRR course is 8.2 miles in length without big logs or ruts to compromise your ride.
